The black-and-white outlines in this book come directly from Xiang Li’s original watercolor paintings, lovingly inspired by her favorite pandas — Bao Li and Qing Bao from the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C., and Hua Hua, the charming celebrity panda in China.
Each line you see carries the same spirit as Xiang Li’s brush — sometimes loose, sometimes playful, always full of heart. These pandas were never meant to be perfect. Just like real life, every page holds its own little surprises.
