The Qing dynasty (1644–1912 CE) was the last imperial dynasty of China, established by the Manchu people and characterized by a multiethnic empire that expanded Chinese territory to unprecedented extents. This era was marked by significant military conquests, administrative reforms, and a blend of Manchu and Chinese traditions that helped solidify its rule over a vast and diverse population.
