About the empress: Empress Zhang (died May 16, 762) was the second wife of Emperor Suzong during China's Tang Dynasty. She gained significant influence by allying with the eunuch Li Fuguo. As Emperor Suzong's health declined, tensions arose between Empress Zhang and Li Fuguo. She attempted to eliminate him but was ultimately captured and executed by Li Fuguo.
