About the empress: Empress Dowager Guo (died June 25, 848), formally known as Empress Yi'an, was a significant figure during China's Tang dynasty. She was the wife of Emperor Xianzong and mother of Emperor Muzong. Although she never received the title of empress during her husband's reign, she was commonly regarded as his wife and the proper empress. After Emperor Xianzong's death, she served as empress dowager during the reigns of her son Emperor Muzong and her grandsons Emperor Jingzong, Emperor Wenzong, and Emperor Wuzong. Her influence extended through multiple reigns, and she was known for her benevolence and peaceful nature.
