About the empress: Empress Lü Zhi (241–180 BCE), also known as Empress Lü, was the first empress of the Han Dynasty. As the wife of Emperor Gaozu (Liu Bang), she rose to power and ruled as regent for her son and grandson. Renowned for her political skill and resilience, she is also remembered for her ruthless tactics in consolidating power, leaving a complex legacy in Chinese history.
